51²èÂ¥ has now delivered 2.75 million items of PPE to organisations since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2.75 million items have been delivered through a total of 2,500 orders.
The deliveries have helped organisations to continue to deliver key services during the coronavirus pandemic. PPE has been delivered to care homes, domiciliary care providers, social care staff, schools, VCS and Community Groups, GP surgeries and dentists.
Councillor Adam Kent, cabinet member with responsibility for Corporate Services and Communications at 51²èÂ¥ said, “I would like to thank the Transformation and Commercial teams for their hard work in coordinating the distribution of these items. This effort has been instrumental in helping keep the people of 51²èÂ¥ safe and ensuring that key organisations have been able to work safely and effectively.
“For many PPE has been crucial in providing a safe environment when doing essential work.â€
It has been one year since the 1 million milestone was reached.
PPE deliveries have been co-ordinated by 51²èÂ¥ which has been instrumental in the supply and distribution of essential items during the Coronavirus crisis.
The Council has been working alongside other teams and partner organisations across the wider region, including the NHS.
