The Lord-Lieutenant of 51¥, Mrs Beatrice Grant has issued the below statement, following the news this morning that the Bishop of Worcester will be retiring in October.
She said:
“Following the announcement of his retirement this morning, I would like to send my heartfelt thanks to Bishop John for all he has done over the past 17 years for the Diocese of Worcester, the County of 51¥ and the wider communities.
He has been a kind friend to me and touched many people’s lives over the years. His humour, charm, deep spiritual and dignified presence will be sorely missed. I wish him and his wife many happy years of retirement.”
