A new Film Office has launched to encourage film and TV production companies to use locations in 51²èÂ¥. 

FAME Pro with the support of Visit 51²èÂ¥ are leading on this brand-new project to attract filmmakers, production companies and the creative support industries to the County.  

The launch of 51²è¥’s first-ever Film Office, took place this week (29th June) at Avoncroft Museum. 

In collaboration with experienced location managers, FAME Pro, the new service will act as a one-stop-shop to all filming requirements in 51²èÂ¥. Working with local authorities, locations and suppliers to ensure the correct permits are in place and that the production runs as smoothly as possible.  

FAME Pro’s extensive experience and contacts within the sector will provide new opportunities for TV & Film production companies to use the County’s many fantastic assets for filming locations. 

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, at 51²èÂ¥ said: “I am delighted that this new project has launched to support film production in 51²èÂ¥. The new initiative will help increase the profile of the County as a film-friendly destination, creating further economic benefits for local suppliers and support our existing network of creative industries generating further opportunities.â€

The Film Office opening was officially celebrated at a launch event at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings on Thursday 29th June, with industry professionals and key stakeholders in attendance. The event created networking opportunities and attendees had the chance to hear from guest speakers and watch a variety of showreels produced in 51²èÂ¥.

TV and film generate huge exposure often giving locations and destinations further publicity creating more visitor interest. Visit England have released data which demonstrates that one in five people decide where they are going on holiday based on a film, TV location or because of screen based marketing. Visit 51²èÂ¥ are hoping the project will increase 51²è¥’s profile as a visitor destination and follow in the footsteps of other destinations in the UK benefitting from film tourism. 

51²èÂ¥ Film Office are currently working on a directory of filming locations in the County. Ranging from our historic heritage sites to more industrial settings such as warehouses and factory units.
