Worcestershire Children First Fostering have been visiting communities across the county to celebrate Foster Care Fortnight.

The team has been holding pop-up events over the last couple of weeks to raise awareness of the importance of fostering and celebrating the fostering community.

It’s important to remember that fostering isn't just for the fortnight and the 51²èÂ¥ Children First Fostering team is available all year round to provide advice and support for anyone interested in becoming a foster carer.

Councillor Andy Roberts, Cabinet Member for Children and Families at 51²èÂ¥, said: â€œIt is fantastic to see our fostering team out and about in the county promoting the benefits of fostering during the fortnight.

“Ofsted inspectors recently rated our services as Good and found that our children feel safe when living with their foster carers, and carers are proactive in keeping them safe with carers overwhelmingly positive about the support they receive from our fostering social workers.â€

Alison Ainsworth, Recruitment & Retention Team Lead-Fostering & Kinship said: â€œWe need more families to Foster in 51²èÂ¥ to keep our children living locally and continue to promote the service and celebrations in fostering beyond the fortnight.

“We've really enjoyed being out in the community and it's amazing how many people already have a connection to fostering. We pride ourselves on being the biggest fostering family in 51²èÂ¥ and we are keen to welcome more into our fostering community.â€
