8.8% of students gained top grades (2 As and a B or higher) in at least 2 facilitating subjects.

Facilitating subjects are those which are commonly needed for entry to leading universities (i.e. biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, further mathematics, geography, history, English literature and classical or modern languages.

Initial data was provided to the County Council voluntarily by 17 out of 24 state funded schools.  The data shows that the average achievement across students’ best three A-Levels is equivalent to a C+ or above.

This is in line with the national position of 76.4% of UK entries achieving a grade C or above.

Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Education at 51²èÂ¥, Councillor David Chambers said: “These results are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of students across the county during their A-Level studies. I would like to take this opportunity to wish our students all the very best for their future, in whatever path they decide to pursue, but also to thank all the teachers and support staff for their time and consistent dedication towards preparing our students. "
