Investing in education is vital to provide our children and young people with the best start in life and 2023 continued investment within schools and other educational settings.

•    In March, St Andrew’s CE Nursery officially opened in Evesham. The project was fully funded by 51²èÂ¥ via a circa £738k S106 capital receipt from Housing Developments in the locality.

•    In October, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Broadway celebrated the official opening of a suite of new classrooms. Thanks to joint funding of nearly half a million pounds from both 51²èÂ¥ and the Archdiocese of Birmingham, lessons are now taking place in a state-of-the-art new building.

•    Building works have also begun on new permanent classrooms at Comberton Primary School this autumn to create new permanent classrooms for students. 51²èÂ¥ has provided just under £2.1 million of capital grant funding to cover the cost of the project.

•    Earlier this month, doors officially opened for Chawson Pre-School in Droitwich. The £650,000 of grant funding from 51²èÂ¥ has helped to support the building of a pre-school nursery at the school to help meet the demand for places within the local school community.

We are continuing to invest in our early years and school provision, ensuring good facilities and learning environments. Looking into the future there will be the delivery of a new secondary school in Worcester and a new first school for Redditch.
