Shrub Hill Quarter re-development set to move forward

Published date

Another step forward was taken today as 51²è¥’s Cabinet gave the green light for the next phase of development on the Shrub Hill Quarter in Worcester.

At today’s meeting (21 July), Cabinet gave the go ahead for progress to be made on the Shrub Hill Industrial Estate part of the project.

This includes the letting of contracts and market testing to establish options for the phases of the work and proposals for development of the site.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, 51²è¥’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy Infrastructure and Skills said, “Today’s decision moves us a step closer to delivering our vision for the Industrial Estate and will be a stimulus for the wider regeneration of the Shrub Hill Quarter as a whole.

“It is an exciting time for this ambitious multi-million-pound redevelopment, which seeks to deliver a prosperous Worcester with stronger and better-connected communities for future generations.â€

The land on which the Industrial Estate sits was purchased by 51²èÂ¥ in November 2020.

The County Council continues to develop the Shrub Hill Station Masterplan, to inform the phased development of Shrub Hill Station and to support the submission of a £20 million Levelling Up Fund 2 Transport bid later this month.
