51²èÂ¥ Children First and 51²èÂ¥ are thanking staff and students for continuing to go above and beyond during the pandemic.

As the school year officially finishes this week, 51²èÂ¥ Children First and 51²èÂ¥ would like to thank staff and students for continuing to go above and beyond during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The county’s schools and the local school communities have all worked incredibly hard, and have shown an unwavering level of support, dedication and innovation over the last 12 months.

Tina Russell, Chief Executive at 51²èÂ¥ Children First, said: â€œI’d like to take a moment to say thank you to our staff, students and parents for their fantastic dedication during this pandemic. This school year has, been immeasurably affected by the pandemic but the local school communities have really come together here in 51²èÂ¥ and made sure that the pupils and their learning experience has been at the heart of everything they’ve done.

Councillor Marcus Hart, 51²è¥’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education and Skills, said: â€œAs we approach the end of this academic year, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of the headteachers, college leaders and early years leaders for their continued hard work, support and dedication to the children and young people of 51²èÂ¥.

It has been another extremely difficult year, and staff, parents and pupils have all once again found themselves with lots of change. As a parent myself, I can sympathise with the challenges of supporting remote learning and adapting to bubble closures. I hope everyone stays safe and well during the summer break.â€
