Tackling Loneliness in 51²èÂ¥ Action Plan 2024 to 2027

Tackling Loneliness in 51²èÂ¥ Action Plan 2024 to 2027

A new action plan that has been created to tackle loneliness and isolation.

Tackling loneliness and social isolation has been a priority in 51²èÂ¥ for several years and is one of ambitions of the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy (2022-2032), which focuses on what we all need to be mentally healthy.

In line with this ambition, a new action plan has been created by the Tackling Loneliness and Isolation Partnership, a system-wide forum that brings together a range of partners from the County and District Councils, the NHS and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.

The new action plan is structed around three key areas, which outline what we need to focus on to reduce feelings of loneliness and improve social connections among people who live and work in 51²èÂ¥.

The three priorities are:

  1. working in partnership to make tackling loneliness and isolation everyone's responsibility
  2. connecting people to each other and to their community
  3. investing in places and projects to support community action
