Evesham local cycling and walking infrastructure plan (LCWIP)
Information on the work for LCWIP taking place in Evesham.
Have your say
To inform the Council's approach to providing cycling and walking improvements in Evesham, a public engagement exercise is currently underway, asking for people's views.
We would like to know how these routes might encourage more walking and cycling in Evesham. The routes have been identified within the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIPs) for Evesham.
As many people as possible are encouraged to have their say by accessing the online maps and survey.
The engagement exercise closes on Friday 27 September 2024 at midnight.
Your feedback, local knowledge and insights will be invaluable in understanding the challenges and opportunities for these three proposed routes for making improvements to the walking and cycling routes in and around Evesham.
If you require assistance completing the survey, staff at Evesham Library are happy and available to help you fill it out or alternative formats of the survey are available on request by emailing: LCWIPs@worcestershire.gov.uk.
What happens next?
After the engagement exercise has finished, all comments will be reviewed and duly considered. Whilst we are not able to respond to individuals, an Engagement Report will be published on our web page, including a summary of key themes and issues.
Our response to each theme or issue will also be shown in this report. Where appropriate, the draft Evesham Local Cycling and Walking Plan will be amended and following adoption, published on our website in winter 2024.
Proposed routes
Seven routes have been identified for the Evesham area and these are shown on the map below. These were researched by our transport consultancy, .
The initial list of seven routes has now been narrowed down to prioritise three routes of the highest priority. These three routes have been recommended to be delivered first as they offer the greatest benefit to the local community, encouraging more walking and cycling.
The prioritisation also focuses on areas with low vehicle ownership, aiming to create better, safer, and connected cycling and walking routes.
The selected routes will serve key locations including Evesham Town Centre, Four Pools Industrial Estate, Vale Business Park, the De Montfort School, Bengeworth CE Academy, Evesham Community Hospital, Abbey Park, and Charity Brook Park.
